TREVOR R HAWKINS
Trevor Hawkins is acknowledged as one of Australia’s foremost angling artists and illustrators. He paints and sketches what he knows best and the results are often small, intimate snapshots of fish, fishing and the surrounding environs. He was born in 1954 on the outskirts of Melbourne, Australia where he was surrounded by native bush, the Yarra River and its tributaries. Fishing, and particularly flyfishing has been a constant in his life since these early days. Trevor is a printer by trade, and for more than twenty years ran a successful printing company he established in Melbourne, whilst at the same time displaying and selling his artwork at various galleries. In 2009, after selling up from his printing company, Trevor moved to the northeast of Victoria where he spends his time flyfishing his beloved small streams, skiing and hiking the surrounding Alpine parks, painting/illustrating and writing. Currently Trevor is the managing editor of the twice yearly prestigious fishing magazine, FLYFISHER, to which he contributes articles and also illustrates. His articles and illustrations also appear in FRESHWATER FISHING MAGAZINE and he has illustrated numerous magazines and books for various publishing companies. |
